Jane Segerberg - Vice
President
Jane Segerberg, former President of the
International Spa Association, is the Vice President of JGL Spa Design &
Consulting. Jane brings over 20 years experience in the travel and wellness
industry along with worldwide exposure to spas and their business strategies to
her spa consulting. Her background includes 18 years of Five-Star level resort
experience, and 11 years of private business practice.
Jane worked with
the Sea Island Company for 8 years and then opened and managed the Sea Island
Spa at the Cloister Hotel for 10 years. Her innovative programming and business
acumen was quickly evident when under her direction, the Sea Island Spa was the
first spa chosen by Travel & Leisure magazine as The Best Spa in North
America. Under her leadership, the Sea Island Spa received numerous awards and
remains on Travel & Leisure's list of top resort spas.
Jane has also
owned and managed her own spa consulting company, providing spa design and
operations expertise to a variety of spa and resort projects. She has traveled
extensively and visited spas worldwide, developing a broad knowledge and
understanding of the international spa industry.
Jane recently served
three elected terms as President of the International Spa Association and
continues to serve on the Past President's Council. She is the recipient of the
esteemed ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award and is credited with the tremendous
growth of ISPA. ISPA, the largest spa industry trade association, has grown to
a global membership of over 2,000 members including owners, directors and
service providers.
She is a highly sought after consultant and
lecturer, speaking internationally for various organizations and featured on
radio, television and web interviews including Fox TV, National Public
Radio, and Web MD. As an authority on spa trends and programming Jane has
been widely quoted in key publications such as World Travel & Tourism
Development, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Allure, American Spa,
Businessweek.com, ABC News.com, and Hotel Executive
Magazine.
Currently, as the vice president of JGL, Jane is involved
in all aspects of spa consulting including concept and facility design,
operations and program development, staffing and training, marketing, facility
openings and ongoing spa management. She also manages the firm's Southeast
office in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Jane holds a B.A. degree in Health
and Physical Education from Heidelberg College. She is certified by The
American College of Sports Medicine, Cooper Aerobics Research Institute,
American Council on Exercise and has appeared in Who's Who in American
Women. |
